  4. 'Misplaced'
I wanted to create an animated illustration for some time ago!
Have you guys felt that you are left in a particular place were you feel out of place but cant get out of there? Maybe a town or a school? Is confusing and you feel left in the spotlight?
Hope it makes sense!
Hope you guys like it!

  5. Hey guys!

'Tomy and Keneth ready for an adventure'

Not the actual name of the comic…just a description more or less of what is going on.

I recently posted the painting of an environment , just letting you know it was created for the sequence in this colored comic sample.

    Hope you guys like it!

I hope I can finish the last two samples soon!

    btw:

I am trying to change my name from Karla to Kay for pen name purposes. There is another artist named Karla Castaneda on the web and I am receiving so many emails requesting to submit my ‘film’ into animation film festival. I am not Karla Castaneda the film maker, but for some weird reason people think I am even though I have clearly written in my website that I am an illustrator. Well, one of my past roommates use to call me ‘K’, so that’s were ‘Kay’ came from.

Hope you guys like the paintings!

  6. Over the past 3 months I have been attempting to create an environment. sadly,I have been failing miserably every time due to my lack  of skill with the matter, but with some practice I managed to create this particular one.
Hope you guys like it?

This painting is a re-do version of a drawing I did back when I just started art school.
Here is the drawing.

  8. Random drawing.
I said I was not going to aspire to be an illustrator anymore but I still want to create drawings because I cant help but draw everyday….
And I still need money so I still make some art for a living, but now that I have been working on projects  on the side hopefully I can be a comic artist when I manage to be stable.

  10. 'The good politician'
This are all of my feelings regarding politicians from Honduras, my hometown. Corrupt motherfuckers stealing all of the money which do not belong to them, not caring for the fact that more than half of our population is starving.
They are eating everybody alive…
ps:
everything is based on what is going on in there, but the town I drew is fictional.

  12. 'A pile of worth'
I have been working on this illustration for quite a while, started it a time ago but decided to finish it just now.
This is an editorial piece, the concept is about how us women in this society have a designated ‘value’ depending on our beauty or charm. We are seen as objects who are given a number in the media or even our everyday life. That’s why this women appear in a pile.
Sometimes I feel women are seen as  ’disposable’ and is very difficult for us to demonstrate our worth when applying to a job if we have no ‘sex appeal’ or ‘charm’. (Giving an example of an specific situation) This does not apply all the time, but we are definitely more prone to criticism if we don’t have all of the qualities a ‘successful woman’ must have.
I know there are men who go through similar situations, but if you are confident and hard working, points for you, you are in the right track.
You can argue with my point of view and is fine, but this is what I have seen since the day I was born.
This is not meant to be a feminist piece but more of an awareness of how woman are portrayed.
I feel this is due to the media (pop culture), AND porn.

But is fine, pop culture is an std that we will never be able to escape from.
If anyone has anything to say is cool, I want to know what you feel.
I might keep editing this text due to my lack of english vocabulary.

I’ve heard countless people say “I wish I could draw!”, to which I always say “You can!”
Anyone can be an artist, a writer, a musician or whatever it is you put your mind to. It doesn’t matter how old you are or how good you currently are at that thing. The only thing that matters is how much you want it. I REALLY wanted to be an artist, like, really bad. I would also love to learn an instrument, and I know I could, but I just haven’t given it the attention it requires. If you want to accomplish something, go out and do it. The only thing holding you back is yourself. Set a high goal and don’t stop until you get there!

  14. A Legend of Korra Tritbute, new season is starting soon so I am excited. Did a portrait in my own way, I hope you like it :)
I have been painting in 120 dpi because my computer cant support big files anymore, it just crashes.
I will be working on my school computers now that I am more motivated to step out of my house when I am not outside drinking or eating loads of food.
